Dr. Sharon's DVD Review
Several years ago, I remember watching a program on television about a haunted house, the location undisclosed. It was intriguing and memorable as psychic, Peter James, talked about a little girl named Sallie. The occupants of the house were scared and didn’t understand what was happening or why. The husband was the only person suffering physical scratches and emotional upheaval due to the activity in the home.
At that time, no one knew who Sallie was or why only the husband was scratched while other activity was benign. Since we started to travel we’ve rarely had television (truly a blessing most of the time) but I’ve often wondered about the mysterious house and what has happened over the years, especially since the couple who revealed the paranormal activity moved out of the house.
We were recently contacted about a new DVD called, Sallie House: Gateway to the Paranormal, and asked to do a review. We have received DVD’s produced by Scott Unruh in the past and have enjoyed the quality and information in his productions. I was pleased to receive the DVD so I could share my feelings and findings with our readers.
Robbie Thomas is an exceptional Psychic Medium who contributes his impressions in Sallie House. I have seen his work in other programs and respect his special gifts. His contributions to the Sallie House DVD help open more understanding as to what took place in a house that appears normal in every way on the outside, but has some serious activity taking place within the wood and stucco walls.
Michael Esposito, an experienced paranormal investigator presented his EVP recordings during the investigation of Sallie House. As he explained during the filming of this DVD, some voices are soft and difficult to hear and yet some of what he recorded in Sallie House is unmistakably clear, the message chilling, offering more information about the mysterious house.
I am always interested in the history of an alleged haunted site and Sallie House: Gateway to the Paranormal includes pertinent historic information. History can give researchers a place to start when searching for answers as to why a site is haunted.
It is believed that the spirit of Dr. Charles Finney is one of the spirits roaming the rooms and halls of Sallie House since he once owned and lived there. Robbie Thomas stated, “Wrong was done by his hand.” Evidence leads us to believe Dr. Finney was an evil man, unfit to practice medicine. Did the little girl called Sallie die an agonizing death at the hands of incompetence in the house?
The Pickmans’ revealed the activity taking place in the house while renting it in the early 1990s. They remained in the house for 22 months before moving out. During that time they called upon psychics and shaman to investigate, explain what was happening and attempted to cleanse the house. It seems the activity accelerated the more attention that was brought to the house.
The first television program about Sallie House aired in 1993. Since that time, considerable interest by programs like Sightings exploded, bringing the haunting to public attention. In 1994, the Sightings film crew captured amazing footage (show in this DVD) of bloody scratches forming on Tony Pickmans’ body and a face that appeared in a window. Activity increased and became more violent every time a film crew went to the house to film.
The Pickmans’ moved into the house in 1992 and moved out in 1994. Until that time there were no reports of paranormal activity in the house. It seems the only person to be physically attacked is Tony Pickman, since the house was built in the 1800s. His wife and child remained untouched throughout the time they resided there.
Sallie House: Gateway to the Paranormal is an hour-long film with never before seen interviews, footage inside the house and information never revealed before. For the first time you can watch the reactions of a ‘spirit sensitive’ dog as Robbie Thomas investigate the most haunted room in the house. I was very impressed with the inclusion of the dog in this DVD as we have always said that animals are not only sensitive to the spirit realm, they can see things unseen by the human eye.
The truth about what really took place in Sallie House remains unsolved, but the DVD brings the viewer closer to understanding why Sallie House is considered to be the most haunted house in America. It is a wonderful addition to any movie collection, especially for people interested in paranormal research.
Michael Esposito says he captured nine different and distinct ethereal voices in Sallie House. Robbie Thomas revealed the names of two little girls who attracted his attention in the basement. The DVD is professionally produced while investigators respectfully attempt to discover the secrets of Sallie House. I highly recommend this not only to ghost researchers but to skeptics as well.
